About Niagara County Center for Economic Development
In July of 2003, the Niagara County Department of Economic Development (NCDED) joined the Niagara County Industrial Development Agency (NCIDA) at its offices in Wheatfield, New York. Together, the two entities are now able, under one roof, to offer comprehensive services to the Niagara County business community. The combined offices in Vantage International Point are now known as the Niagara County Center for Economic Development.
Niagara County Department of Economic Development
The mission of the Niagara County Department of Economic Development is to: Provide high quality professional planning services to the municipalities, citizens and organizations of Niagara County; promote orderly growth and development through the dissemination of information, preparation of plans, projects and programs and provision of technical services.
The Department also promotes sustainable economic development in harmony with the natural environment, creating and retaining jobs, expanding the tax base, and improving the quality of life for Niagara County residents under the direction of the Niagara County Manager and policies of the Niagara County Legislature.
Niagara County Industrial Development Agency
The Niagara County Industrial Development Agency is a not-for-profit public benefit corporation established in 1972 by the County Legislature. Under the provisions of the New York Industrial Development Agency Act, the NCIDA is empowered to actively attract and develop economically sound commerce and Industry, thereby fostering job opportunities, general prosperity, and economic welfare for all residents of Niagara County.
The NCIDA utilizes a variety of financing, tax incentive, and job training programs to induce economic growth. Many of these programs can be employed individually to meet a specific need or assembled to form a comprehensive development package.
